APAV is a distributor of control systems for the audio-visual industry.
The control system “product” is a central controller.
The central controller connects to AV devices via its various output ports. These include RS232 ports, Infrared, Relay and Ethernet.
A user interface or custom “app” is created to control devices from an iPad, PC, Chrome box, Android Tablet, Mimo Touch screen and other similar displays.
Interface and logic programming software are inside the controller and can be accessed by PC or another device using the Google Chrome web browser.
Some examples of devices commonly controlled are matrix switchers, KVMs, projectors, flat screen TVs, digital signs, DSPs and conferencing cameras. Software libraries include ready-made drivers for all of these devices.
Control system markets include video conferencing rooms, meeting rooms, classrooms, houses of worship, home theaters and home automation.
A popular feature of APAV apps is the macro, which, is a series of commands that can be launched with a single button press.
Macros can be used to “start or quit a room”.
For example, pressing a Start Room button might launch a command to lower room lighting, preset room volume and turn a projector and/or other displays on.
A Quit Room button could reverse the above and make sure all equipment is off and ready for the next user.
